yes i am a tarot card reader, and i dont charge for reading because i think that it is the help from the Goddess.and therefore yes you would have to give something in return to the Goddess.i always would throw out some crumbs of bread and stuff for the wild in honoring the Mother Goddess.and thats how i repay Her for the reading of the tarot cards.when i first learned the cards how to read them that is,i was taught after i do a reading to honor the Mother Goddess with something for the earth.maybe like some food for the wild.and ever since i have done that my readings have been really spiritually.and alot of people have came back saying that the reading that i gave to them they would do the task that i tell them and than after they did it they was helped and blessed in whatever the task was.so no i dont charge people for doing a reading for them.if i did,it would be like selling the knowledge and the reading to them from the Goddess.and than you taking the money and spending it on whatever.hope this helps you.
blessed be,
Lord Ashka Witch

Yes, although I don't do it regularly. For myself at times and at the request of friends.
I don't take payment because a) I need the practice; b) I still have to refer to my cheat sheets; c) although I've been told they're uncanny, I am not confident that I have any real skill in this area. I wouldn't feel right taking payment for something that could be nothing.
I understand what you're saying about charging for your time. Partly because I'm still having to look things up, doing a reading is time consuming. It also takes energy. I always center and ground myself first, lay the spread, write the cards down, list the meanings, then analyze the big picture to come up with what it might all mean and how it's all connected.
Not brain surgery there, but it does take time!

I am a beginner. A friend bought me my first set and I already had a set of Rune Stones. I have given several Rune readings to friends and only a few card readings. I don't charge because they are friends. I have been giving stone readings for about 10 years now and only 1 year or so on the cards. I am not a "professional" by any means, but it sounds as if you are?

I read cards. I also don't charge for the "reading" but I do charge for the session which could include advice on candles, crystals, etc.
I gave my first thousand readings for free to gain knowledge and experience.
Hope this helps.

I charge if the person is a twit. Then again, I don't go into a Tarot reading cold, either.

I do not read tarot, I play it. It should be said at this point that the tarot was originally designed for card games and not for fortune telling.
