I'm 29 years old and I still get wrapped. I think you should buy stock in the company selling these, and post this question everyday. If you promote the wrapping more, and keep it going, mothers all over the world will be purchasing and you will become rich. I am taking a screen shot of this answer and don't even think about not sharing with me! I know where you live!!
Best of luck with your little guy. Please remember never wrap with band-aids.

You're still okay. At 7 weeks, your son won't have grown out of much.
Our daughter started moving her arms as she developed her motor skills and dexterity. Each morning she had knocked the wrap loose around herself.
Around 2 or 3 months, she had knocked the wrap completely free of herself. She's 6 months now, and we just cover her with a blanket and kiss her goodnight.

my baby is seven weeks old as well. She does not like to be swaddled very often. I had to go so far as to wrapping her into a reciever blanket and then snapping something over the receiver blanket..(those things babies can sleep in instead of blankets with two arm holes and it zips up and has snaps on it) to keep her from releases her hands, and its not cruel at first she does not like it and then is contented..but in the morning she still manages to have her arms out of the thing. Some babies just dont like it and if the baby is fighting it then it could be something he doesnt like and if hes loving it then keep it up.

My little girl is 9 weeks old and I still swaddle her for every nap and at bedtime, if I don't she will rub her face and constantly wake herself up. I bought this blanket called a Miracle Blanket that she absolutely CAN'T get herself out of and it has saved us many sleepless nights! It is big enough that she'll be able to use it for a LONG time still but designed so ingeniously that even a newborn can use it. You really should check it out...I am giving one at a baby shower this Sunday!!

Your son will let you know when he is ready to stop being swaddled. At this age, it is still quite normal for babies to want this, especially when they do not feel good. He should out grow this within about a month or so. I think that being swaddled make him feel safe and secure. That is one of the biggest things that he needs right now, so just relax and help him feel safe!

It's fine to continue wrapping your baby:) Trust me, he will let you know when he no longer wants to be wrapped.

I swaddled my son until he was strong enough to push his way out which was about 3 1/2 months. He slept better that way, without his wild arms smacking into himself and the basinet.

You can still wrap him while he is sleeping but they recommend that you not do it while they are awake because it slows their progress down as far as seeing their hands and learning how to reach and play.

my 18 month old daughter loved being swaddled till she was about 6 months old. now she don't even like socks on her feet except when wearing shoes..
the baby will out grow it.
swaddling newborns give them a cents of security like when they were in the womb

He's still little and feels secure in the wrapping. Do whatever he likes. When he's strong enough and doesn't like it, he'll unwrap himself.
