How do people on the radio get payed? How do they make money, or where does it come from?

You'd be surprised to find that most DJs are not local. They are network people who are played in hundreds of cities. Usually, only the morning shows are local people. They all get paid by their respective companies, just like any other job. But, it is advertising that brings in the money for the companies. Nobody would be paid without it.

They work for the radio station who pays them. The money comes from advertisers.

Advertising. Companies pay a lot of money for advertising time on radio, especially during rush hour.

Advertisements. It's their job to talk on the radio, and that's how they get paid. The Radio station owners get paid by ads. How do you think the TV stations get paid?

The sponsors pay the station for advertising and the station pays the disc jockey.
