I have reset my password on the Microsoft Passport,Why doesn't it work?

I have created a very strong password. If I am on the Microsoft Passport Network using a Yahoo Address, Why doesn't my Yahoo Address work? Do I have to use a Microsoft Passport Network address? Who or what gives them the right to tell us what kind of address to use?

There are several possibilities.

1. The password is case-sensitive.
2. You are mistyping it.
3. The new password was not registered and you still need to use the old one.
