I have been using Soulseek for sometime now but recently i cant get anything to download. My files start Initialising and then fail. Can anyone help me configure it properly

Sounds like a connectivity issue.
I would suggest downloading the latest version of soulseek. If you have it, then check your connectivity to the Internet. If that checks out, erase soulseek and re-install the program.
Last, but not least...do a cold boot of your computer.
