I was just checking into the hype around PS3 and the Wii - in which the Wii looks pretty neat. I am confused and did not read.....are the games played on the tv set or the pc/screen. Confusion creeps in here for me b/c i saw where it does connect to the net. Any clarification/explanation would be great. My sons -12 / 13 -want to switch from the good ole gamecube to PS3 or even 2.....but I just think this is the smarter move. Plus it plays old the other console games- wow. thanks folks - (ps not a granny yet! but its hard to keep ahead now!)

-They both work on the TV and can be adapted to PC's.
The wii: the games are more clever, less based on immersive reality and will be backwards compatible with the cube.
PS3: More immersive games: the experience of the games revolves more on realistic graphics and immerrsion.

They both connect to the internet, and the nintendo pledged not to charge people for using their online servers.

Personally i think the wii is better for the brain since the games have a tendency to be based on clever schemes rather than trying to make you live an alternate reality.

It plays on the TV. Should have a built in modem connection but they may use an adapter thing not sure. The older games will need to be bought. Now I think the Wii may be a little better then a PS2, and wouldn't likely pay for the PS3. The Wii may be better just because they are changing the whole way games will be played. Just for the difference in experience it may be worth it.

I'm a mom and I want a Wii...lol. My kids have the PS2, X Box and a gamecube. My son plays the X Box more but he wants the Wii simply for the fact that it will play the older console games. It just will depend on what kind of games your kids are into.

Hey, The wii does look neat and is cheaper. but in the long run i believe that its just a different attempt at the game cube, the novelt will run out quickly. however for more of a price the PS3 is gonna be really wonderfull system. it will have wayyy better graphics, more games... more enjoyable games. and it just seems like the better choice. the PS3 games will be played more and last longer than nintendo and save money that way but the system its self is quite a bit more expensive than the Wii... in other words.. Wii vs. PS3 .. Go PS3 itll be better in the long run. :)

They both are still played on the TV, but they come with an adapter by which you can connect to the internet to play online.
