I've seen this problem before, and it has always been a cable issue. make sure that your cables are tightly in place and that it did not bent too much to where it could have been damaged from the inside.

Check your video connections if it's a desktop (power and data cables) You should only have one video data cable going from your monitor to your system, either the DVI or the VGA (I've seen people connect 2, this will fry the card and or the monitor)... if it's a notebook contact your manufacturer. You need one of these theree replaced... Video card, LCD or the cable that connects your LCD to your video card.

try upgrading the graphics drivers, if your unsure what graphics card you have look at www.cpuid.com and download CPU-Z. if that doesn't work check if the cables are plugged in, if they are then check if there are any bent pins in the plug of the monitor wire. if there is get a new wire if you don't think there is then try using a different wire if it can be removed from the monitor. if not then try a different monitor and if you don't have a different monitor try another graphics card. if you don't have a different graphics card some can be found on eBay very very cheap. hope this helps you

First, check to see if the cable to your monitor is connected all the way at both ends. Then check to see if there is a fan on your video card. If there is check to see if the fan is working. It kind sounds like something may be overheating.

Sounds like you have a crt monitor and its takin a dump. The high voltage power supply is goin south! Thin lines travelling from side to side indicate a horizontal high voltage problem. Its not your PC or video card!

Try demagnetising the screen. That option must be there with your monitor options.
See that your screen is away from the UPS and other magnetic sources.
Reinstall the video driver if possible
Hope it becomes alright soon....
