Why does James Bond preffer his drinks shaken and not stirred?

Because a martini takes on a different taste if it shaken in a shaker with ice, than if it were placed in a mixer and stirred.
kinda like tea has a different taste if you pour your milk into the cup then the tea, as opposed to the tea and then the milk.
It all has something to do with chemical reactions.

And, shaken is the proper way to mix a Martini. Stirred Martini's are made by Lazy Bartenders with no self-respect, no pride in their work.

Haven't you ever been to a bar and watched a female bartender shake a drink? I used to be a bartender and I couldn't figure out why only men specified "shaken", well I figured it out......needless to say I started "shaking" every drink, and wouldn't you know it, my tips started increasing. Go figure (luckily I worked in a bar where it was a total sausage fest every night). Actually, the drinks DO taste better if they're shaken.

Many people feel that stirring does not mix the ingrediants as well as shaking, as well as aerating the contents to impart ab etter flavor.
Some feel that shaking "bruises" the drink and is not as flavorful

I know this one. James Bond is sexist, but charming. He likes his women to shake his drink so he can watch their boobs wiggle while they shake it. Stirring doesn't cause as much excitement for him.
