football does not seem intellectual to me, and I understand the rules.
but an intellectual person can still enjoy things that are not intellectual. "The more advanced the mind, the greater the need to play."

Your wife is absolutely right. The game is played by mostly illiterates who can't hold a decent conversation in front the camera without repeating the same words again.
