I like the sticky traps; they're super sticky goo on cardboard. Set one in the path the mouse likes to take, and put a tiny dab of peanut butter or other fragrant mouse favorite in the middle. I get the mouse within hours every time. Fold the trap over the mouse and humanely hit it with a hammer before throwing the whole thing out.

If you do not want to kill the mouse with a trap, you could purchase an ultrasonic device that plugs into the outlet in your house. It emits a high pitch noise that will chase out unwanted rodents, but humans cannot hear it. If you are in an apartment though, it can disrupt any other small animals that people may be keeping as pets. I don't know where to purchase these devices, but my friend used them once and it worked like a charm!!

get a new cat-this one is not a mouse catcher, lol
humane traps are not smart enough-mouse always wins
rid x only runs humans away :-)
opening the door could let another mouse in
look for a neighborhood kid who wants to make some money and pay them $25 to catch them

Here is the ghetto way. If you see one, there are inevitably more. Find the holes where they come in at and if you dont already have them buy some brillo pads, preferably the silver ones. cut them up and stuff them in the hole. Mice can chew thru almost anything but metal brillo pads, they will cut their jaws and get frustrated. It helped with my mouse problem.

If the cat doesn't get it, you can buy Ammonia pellets (about the size of a half dollar) and put them places like behind the fridge or under the cabinets. It will either kill it or drive it away. You will be unable to smell them, though.

I have a humane trap and it works great for me every time. Try different foods or put it in a different location. Peanut better worked great for me. It has a strong scent.
