I think the real issue is: why are you doing nothing? then we can decide the right and wrong of it.
If you are doing nothing because you know others will pick up your slack so why bother, than doing nothing is selfish and lazy and wrong.
If you are doing nothing because you have a disability that keeps you from interacting in society, then doing nothing is right for you, if you feel it is.
If you are doing nothing because it is your way of protesting a capitalistic regime where you you work your whole life to make other people rich, then I support you and say you are right (although I'm sure the 1% of North America that owns 90% of the wealth would disagree)
In short, your question is too vague, why are you doing nothing? Exactly what do you mean by nothing? And do you like doing nothing?
P.S. you aren't ever doing nothing, right now you are breathing and reading among other things!

Yeah, sometimes doing nothing is good, but if you mean 24/7 that wouldn't quite work for me- I'd have an even bigger pile of laundry than I have now. Some of the people who answered this should just #uck off, and go and answer some self-righteous or worthy question instead. Lighten up folks-chill!

Define nothing, is this for an hour, for an afternoon or for the rest of your life and you are 24.
No there is nothing wrong with doing nothing in moderation. Otherwise it becomes a slippery slope, if everyone did nothing then what would happen?

I've been sick for nearly 2 weeks and have done nothing, accept sleep, drink fluids and take pills.
I've decided that doing nothing, is not all it's cracked up to be.
But I would like to try again when I'm healthy.

Doing nothing is fine so long as you aspire to nothing and wish for nothing in return - thankfully there are enough of us out here who would be bored shitless doing nothing.

Don't you get bored? If I have nothing to do I think I'll kill myself. For me, doing nothing is the worst kind of punishment.
