winter, but it hasn't stopped raining here in about two weeks....future doesn't look so promising either. Should I wait it out and get a few dry days in there or just go ahead and cover them up now?

You're just loosely covering the wood with a tarp so it isn't as if the moisture will stay. Just don't vaccuum seal it and it will be fine. No sense in allowing MORE moisture onto the wood!

We always had a huge woodpile growing up and it would get wet and my dad would cover it and there would be no problem. Trust me on this one, all we used for heating in the cold NH winters was wood!!

Put them up on something like a frame or bricks so that they are a few inches off the ground. This will help moisture not to saturate the lower ones and keep animals from making nests there. Also tarp them immediately afterward but leave a couple of vent areas.

i'm thinking, wait it out and maybe they will dry out.. 2 cover them now, they may never dry.. and it's not a great idea 2 have wood stacked against the house because of termite reasons : )
