Go with Asian scare flicks! The Grudge, The Ring, etc.

If you haven't seen the first Saw yet, try that, the twist it takes are great and the final few scenes will get you. the Exorcist, especially if you have a somewhat religious background will freak you out. the first 2 or 3 Friday the 13ths are good too.
