It's an optional program. You can track expenses and stuff with it. I prefer to just use Excel for that type of stuff.

Although Microsoft Money is a great program, along with a pretty steep learning curve if you are not familiar with such programs, it is not necessary unless you plan on using it, i.e., for ledger management or portfolio management.

The program is made to "simplify" your money management needs, whether you are a business or for personal use.

With Microsoft Money, and many other programs in this market, you will have a data file that is updated on a regular basis. You would need to keep multiple backups of that file in order to insure your data integrity.

For more information on Microsoft Money, visit: http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.m...

There is probably more information there than you'll ever need to know, but if you're interested, then check it out.

Bottom line: If you're comfortable with your checkbook and on-line banking through your bank, then stick with that.

To uninstall: Simply go to your Control Panel, choose Add/Remove Programs, and Remove it. Before doing so, however, make sure you have your CD in case you want to reinstall it in the future.

Cheers,

Dan
