Put on vaseline. It will soothe it and take away the sting. I have had them many times and this is the remedy for me.

Is the burn on her knees or butt/back? Seriously, carpet burns have to be treated like any burn and they are ususally superficial. Wash the area with neutral soap and warm water then apply over the counter Neosporin or Bacitracin topical ointment twice a day. Also, you can get over the counter topical anesthetic ointments which will give her relief from the stinging.

Put an ice pack on it for fifteen minutes and it should settle down, then leave the burn open so that it scabs over.If clothing is being worn over the burn apply some vaseline and then a plaster/dressing-the vaseline stops the wound from sticking.

A burn is a burn whereever it comes from so do not put any cream or anything on it except cold water or ice until the area has completley cooled down.

A friction burn can be as sore as a normal burn sometimes. Wrap a pack of frozen peas or something similar in a tea towel, to take the heat out of it.

Vinegar. Makes it sting really bad for a couple of seconds then it is all fine. Make sure you are aware the pain is terrible for those seconds but afterwards it is so good the pain is worth it.

Buy some Weleda calendolon ointment from health shop or chemist. She'll see a difference overnight. It's made from calendula or marigolds. Works well on any sore bits.

The same type of spray anesthetic you would use for a sunburn. I forget the names, but there are several on the market. Look in the first aid section of a pharmacy.

Neosporin with pain relief ointment and a bandage. Are you a carpet layer?
