This is an excellent question. For conservatives to be philosophically consistent in their economic beliefs, Americans should go where the good jobs are. Economic conservatives (of the old laissez-faire school) support the free movement of capital and labor. The capital has already gone to China, India and elsewhere with shortages of labor developing in those locations. If Americans want to avoid a lower standard of living, moving where the capital goes is the conservative economic solution.

Many American conservatives, however, are poor or working-class, uneducated and very religious. They still believe in the "American dream" and think the Republican Party can save their dreams for them. They think our system is not broken, only the citizens in the system (e.g. they're lazy drunkards who don't want to work).

Little do they realize that when capital starts fleeing the system- the system is broken. Returns here in the U.S. are too low and mean the "American dream" has run its course until capital starts coming back to the U.S.

P.T. Barnum supposedly once said, "There's a sucker born every minute." Watching "conservatives" fight immigration and vote for the Republican party indicates Mr. Barnum's axiom holds in the political realm, too.

No, the salaries are still lower in China than the US. Unless you interested in learning Mandarin, there's not much reason to go.
