...does anyone else find it incredibly annoying when people ask questions here that a simple Google/Yahoo! search would yield answers for in seconds?
Or am I just being Mr Grumpy?

Blimey, lots of answers...I know that people like interacting with one another, and the 'net and this site does it just fine, but I only asked due to someone wanting to identify a quote - I cut and pasted the entire quote into Google and first answer was what he needed.

It is a bit of an oddity. With the time it takes these lazy twits to write the question in the first place, they could have found a detailed answer by using any of the internet search engines. The whole point of the internet is that it's a mine of information - it's not just about the porn kids! You forgot to mention another type of question which is really annoying, and it's what I call the "I want the world to know I'm a moron" question. I think it's mostly kids who write them, but they go something like this: "My boyfriend, when he's not beating seven bells of doo-dah out of me, he's making fun of me and sleeping with all my friends. Should I leave him?". AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!

I find it a silly waste of points for someone to ask a question they can easily Google themselves. But if that's what they want to do, so be it.
