you need a written consent from his mother and his birth certificate and for you, you only need a picture ID..unless you are going into Mexico over the border line before the free border.(do I make any sense)...Mexico has a free border that you can come and go without any passport..but if you going pass the point you need one after 1-7-06 otherwise you only need what I said at the beginning

You will need his Birth Certificate or Passport if he has one. As for you, your U.S. drivers license or U.S. ID is all that is required right now. Starting I believe in January 2007 you and your son will need a US Passport

You must have written permission from your son's mother to take him to another country, regardless of if you're married or not married. Also, I believe that due to 9/11, travel into Mexico requires a passport.

Bring birthcertificates. Especialy for your son. they seem to trip out about little kids more. And just in case social security cards.
