You can either hand wash cold with Woolite or use a gentle detergent with a tiny bit of softener, so they won't be stiff, and rinse well with cold water and a gentle cycle if in a washer and rack dry or hang up by the legs to dry on a line not in a dryer.

Last week I tried to shrink a pair of denim pants. I washed them in hot water and dried them on high heat and they didn't shrink at all. I think most the modern fabrics are made shrink proof, except 100% cotton.

They will shrink about a half size. Don't wash them in hot water or really cold water, the water should be lukewarm. Never dry them.

You can actually put in dryer and AIR DRY, but never add heat because they will shrink a little.

As long as you wash them in cool water, and hang to dry, they shouldn't shrink.
