Get a pre-paid cell phone. Very easy to use. You can buy them just about anywhere, and they're good only for emergencies or if you don't plan on using it a lot. You can add minutes as you need them. I think that's what my grandpa has.

What I did was buy a pay-as-you-go wireless phone. I got a Nokia phone at Walgreens for $29.95, which came w. a $10.00
TMobile card. Since I have the phone for emergencies, the $10 card lasted a long time. Then I found out from TMobile that a prepaid $100 card gives you unlimited time for a year-- so last week Target had a deal where if you bought a $100 card, you also got a free Nokia phone w it, and the phone came w. a $10 card!! What could be better? The phone "plans" of wireless companies cost too much. They think we were born yesterday--
talk realy is cheap-- why get suckered by the great American ripoff schemes. And don't pay attention to the brain-dead moron who told you you're gonna be dead soon . Little does he know
it's gonna happen to him too ( yuk, yuk )!

You can look in Tesco or go to Cellphone Warehouse , or the like ,if you are in the UK but it sounds as though you don't what a contact option but a pay as you go. That way you can decide how much you 'top up' your phone with depending on your usage.
One oldie to another :-)

My advice is to have a look on ebay.... you can buy simple, easy to use mobiles at cheap pirces... (everyone wants ones with cameras and gadgets and things that warm up your tea!!! lol),,,,, so most people sell simple old ones on ebay but in prettyg ood condition. If not, i know my parents bought a samsung from argo for £20 and they are head over heels with it, it does everything u need without the puzzling extras... have a look in there! :-)

You can get a bog standard Nokia from places like Woolworths for about £30.00 or less! They answer and make calls and are easy to use.
