I think the question sums up everything i'm trying to get across...
But i'll elaborate just in case.
People find it easy to complain about the state of the world and the economy and all other worldly issues. But i don't see these people doing anything about it.
Conversating doesn't exactly solve any problems.
Unless it's the world leaders conversating. And the only reason their conversations have any effect is because they hold the power to make things happen.
But i'm of the mindset that we all can make the world a better place. Through newsletters, actions, enlightenment, support of certain subjects, etc...

Ok fine...
Let me use "communicating" rather than "conversating".
I should've used "conversing" :)

Hmmm.... someone got a little touchy over this question.
And you don't even know me so don't insult me or assume anything about me.
You know of me by my questions alone.
So to assume that i do nothing but rant is fallible.
I don't feel the need to explain myself and how i lead my life.

Actually, i'm not a liberal nor a republican...
I'm neutral.
I don't know enough about politics to actually take a stand. Yes, i'm actually admitting i don't know.
What i do know is humanity...
And that's more than enough for me to actually attempt to make a difference.
Think about me the next time you go to the doctor's office. Just because i'm not out fighting or doing whatever else politically doesn't mean i'm sitting on my a s s. I'm the one stitching up your wounds for you to go fight and get all high and mighty.
Have appreciation for humanity rather than those that share your views.

You could say the same thing about almost everybody else -
including yourself! Everything is under some sort of state control
- governents, banks, cars, housing, gas, water, electricity, even
sex doesn't come cheap either. The only true way to change is
to open ourselves, repent, change everything to thinking and our
ways of dealing with people, and maybe, we could start
something.
Otherwise, don't waste your time.
And don't bother asking these kinds of questions eighter.

I think the only way we can make the world a better place is take a long hard look at our mistakes. Racism, religiosity, xenophobia, you name it. We need to change as people first. I see on the Spirituality and Religion QA here how people hate so much. It's really quite sad that we've learned so little over the eons of time. We really do need to know ourselves first, then realize that we aren't so dfferent from one another. A great American psychiatrist, Harry Stack Sullivan, when explaining the experience of why schizophrenics act so 'crazily' said, "After all, we are all more or less human." This explains how a crazy perception creates crazy behavior. And why we can understand how a person can go psychotic when he sees a frightening hallucination. But I ramble here. Lets just accept our differences and celebrate our humanness

Not to be a smartass or anything, but I think the question is, what are you doing asking this question? I mean it is so liberalized that it is pathetic. The irony of a Liberal asking this is to much for me to handle. Liberals and Democrats are the the reason that Iran, N Korea have nuclear technology. So to solve the problem I say they go and start there own damn country somewhere. Oh I know that you all thought that helping other countries with this technology was a good thing, and then they would love us instead of hate us. But you were wrong and now the Republican party is cleaning your crap up! Just go live somewhere else, or do everyone a favor and SHUT THE **** UP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

As civilians, there is little we can do to make the world a better place. I feel that everytime someone listens to one of my political songs such as (4 more years of war), or reads one of my informative posts regarding the adverse effects of illegal immigration on our country, I am doing something. Something is better than nothing. When we communicate our concerns, we are informing others of problems that exist. Therefore, we are doing our part to change our world. It amazes me how many people listen to pop music and never tune into the news. It is our job as informed citizens to inform others about the realities effecting us all.

My definition of success. How many people are better off because you lived. My goal in life is to be a good person and help others. That in itself is making the world a better place. Once you help somebody, that person will help somebody and by that exponential growth good things will happen.

I am very active in my community both politically and with youth activities. I do think I'm making the world a better place (or, at least, my little corner of it).

Yes I am making a difference, and so should you and everyone else. Don't worry about it being "historically significant", just always do the right thing.
