number of shares outstanding is typically not a statistic that changes every day. therefore, it's probably not published on a daily basis.
for that, you may want to obtain the audited financial statments dated near the date you're looking for. the financial statements will tell you how many shares are outstanding. then you can look at press releases to determine if they have issued any more stock or engaged in a stock buyback program.
i'm willing to bet the number of shares outstanding has not changed since 10/19/06.
if you want to find out how many shares were traded on a daily basis, you can get that info thru yahoo finance by searching the company's stock ticker symbol

Unfortunately, that number is reported only quarterly. It does vary perhaps on a daily basis because of option exercises, which can happen any time. There is another kink that tends to muddy the waters. That is short sales. Short sales tend to increase the stock outstanding even though the shares do not exist in fact. That number is not reported daily either.
Abercrombie reported 87,920,000 shares outstanding on July 29, 2006. And options on 3,354,000 shares were outstanding and in the money. There were also 15,380,000 shares of treasury stock, which was over a million shares less than the previous year. So the amount of stock outstanding and not in the treasury is somewhere between 87,920,000 and 91,354,000 shares plus short interest that was last reported as 4,210,000 shares.

These numbers are not published regularly. However, companies include the number of shares outstanding on their quarterly statements. Quarterly statements are available through the SEC's EDGAR Database. You can link to it through Yahoo! Finance.
Changes to the shares outstanding can be affected by:
1. Exercise of warrants and employee stock options
2. Seasoned equity offerings.
3. Conversion of convertible securities
4. Share repurchases by the company
5. Stock splits and stock dividends.
All of these, except for the first one, will be reported in the news.

I've made a nice profit on a couple of suggestions he's given and plan to start trading his ideas a lot more. I definitely recommend subscribing to https://tr.im/pennystockguide
Very good research, quality stocks. I was a bit weary of penny stocks from all the bad hype they receive but this guy is pretty legit. He's put my mind at ease with a lot of the fears I've had.

So..
I've been trading the market for just a few months. My cousin actually told me about this website ( http://pennystocks.toptips.org ) and I signed up immediately after. This is my honest review about their method. I'm not someone who has a lot of time to be researching for ideas because I work many hours. they made it incredibly easy for me to make money in the market. Their reports are easy to read and follow. I've tracked most of the stock ideas that I've received in my e-mail from them and MANY have seen some nice gains after their announcements. I've made a nice profit (55% return on my investment on one, and 112% on the other!) on a couple of suggestions he's given and plan to start trading his ideas a lot more.
