Country used to have a hard edge to it i.e. Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, but no new artist in country music (other than alt-country like Rilo Kiley & Neko Case) has managed to bring anything to the table other than homogenized, sanitized, ridiculous stereotypes of what they think the public expects of them. Rap on the other hand has some credible artists that push boundaries (see:Eminem, 50 cent, Jay-z, Nas, Raekwon, etc.), unfortunately the rap community has spawned some of the most horrendous bastardizations of music in recent years, one listen to D4L and I wanted to off myself, in the end I give rap a slight edge, but both can be worthwhile genres if you know where to look.

Pop/Country has an awesome sound(hense Rascal Flatts What Hurts the Most).I hate all the crappy twang(Alabama,Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, both lousy crap). However,Rap is the worst.its not music, its crap.
