It can cause headaches if you suffer with migraine's also the powder in the tubing is highly poisonous

It does seem some florescent lighting is worse than others.

The was a Sears store in town when my daughter was little, the lighting hurt her ears so much we couldn't go into the store.

It didn't bother me. They do bother me if they flicker.

Flickering light or proximity to tv screen sometimes can precipitate epileptic fit in patients of epilepsy. Otherwise I don't think it can make u sick.
