My ex wife and I agreed to a dollar amount for child support before we recieved paperwork from the court. The amount the court ordered was in my favor, but I kept with our agreement for the past 15 years and payed more. Now she wants to take me back to court for more money. What are my rights?

Ok this how it goes. If you make more money than you did 15 years ago. Yes she can get more from you and verbal agreement don't work anymore it has to be in writing. But if you make less than what you made by then. Then she is hanging herself cause the court will give her less than she is getting now. Take your bills that you are paying. Tell them how much you have left. Most judge will go on what you have left. Cause you have to make a living also. Or got to court and have the kids in your custody. and make her pay you child support if she is being a bit--h.

It will be determeined on whatever you make if she takes you back to court, which could still be in your favor, besides I would assume you paid the money through child support so all that will be on the record as an overpayment that will not go away and be applied to any future money due

Im sorry to tell you this but she has every right to take you back to court due to a cost of living increase im sure as the kids get older they are needing more and you should be willing to accept that fact and give her more on your own if you dont then the courts will probably increase it anyway . Just go ahead and do it. Good luck and god bless.

well if you have not have it in writing it might be hard. If your child has grown up she will need more money But it will be determine by how much you make. You can say that you did have an agreement but she can also say yes but that was a long time ago are child has grown more and her needs has grown with her. But the judge will deterime the child support by how much you make.
