Quite a few medications can detected via saliva, and it's growing popularity for spot checks because it's easier to administer and you have less chance of tampering (patients substituting urine etc)
Here's s list of a few that will show
· Amphetamines (including Methamphetamine and Ecstasy)
· Cannabinoids (Marijuana)
· Cocaine
· Opiates (such as Codeine, Morphine, Heroin, Oxycodone, Vidcodin, etc.)
· Phencyclidine (PCP)

I use to be an insurance agent and we use to do swab tests for drugs. It is a DNA drug test. It can tell if you have used drugs within the last 6 months to a year (I think that's how far back) they are extremely accurate and not uncommon.. If you have done drugs it will not get past this test..and I don't know anyway around it like the hair strand test or urine test.

I have never heard of swabbing the mouth for drug screening, that sounds more like dna test. I have heard of a hair sample being used for screening though.

I haven't heard of a mouth swab for a drug test. I had to have a mouth swab when getting approved for life insurance. The salesman told me it was an HIV test.

Yes I had this one done. Its no big deal. I find it better than having to pee in a cup. They taste kind of funny but other than that its a piece of cake. They are doing the same drug tests as the pee test.

They can also drug test by using hair samples. The swab test, as far as I know, is for a DNA sample.

Then don't worry. Maybe they are nabbing your DNA for future criminal investigations.
