1. Pick an EASY major that is not full of pre-meds. This means don't major in biology or pre-med (which is a STUPID major anyway -- wtf do you do with that degree if you don't go to med school?).

2. Do well in your major, but save your real energy and brain power for the med school pre-reqs. These include:
1 year general chemistry w/lab
1 year organic chemistry w/lab
1 year physics w/lab
1 year calculus
1 year biology w/lab
1 year English
Recommended coursework includes: statistics, economics, computer science, psychology, philosophy/ethics

3. Do lots of extracurriculars. Volunteer in a hospital or clinic, do a medical mission through a church, work with underpriveleged kids. Do something that would make Mother Teresa look like a selfish jerk.

4. Take an MCAT class. I used Princeton Review. Do NOT take the MCAT until you are absolutely ready to apply. That test is painful, and its score is only valid for about 2 years (lesser schools accept 3-year-old scores).

I don't know if you are still in high school or not, but if you are, take all the science and math courses you can. Talk to the counselor and he/she can advise you on what to take. Also, to get accepted into a college and especially for a scholarship, outside activities will help. It could be any kind of volunteering. Like to work with youth at church, mission trips, volunteering at nursing homes or hospitals, community service. There are a lot of things you can do. My grandson is aiming for this. He even took one of his college courses this past summer, and will do that again next summer. He is a junior in HS. My brother has been in education all his life, principal and superintendent, and he has given us a lot of pointers. I wish you good luck!!!!

I was accepted to McMaster University's School of Medicin in Hamilton Ontario. I decided not to attend. However, the reason why I chose this one was because I didn't have to write MCATS or have too much science. I only have 1st and 2nd year bio and 1st year chem. I found that not having enough basic science credits were a barrier so I applied to schools that didn't need this requirement. For an arts major like myself, it was easier to get in.

Hope this helps. Cheers,

you in all likelihood does no longer be admitted even in the adventure that your MCAT score have been 40 5. medical colleges have such distinctive properly qualified applicants that they do no longer admit pupils who fairly earned a B (3.0) GPA. pupils with this type of low GPA might desire to no longer do the artwork required in medical college. you would be admitted to osteopathic college in case you have a ideal admission try score and are very fortunate.
