I don't believe this is a general question applied to all life but more of how much our own individual lives are influenced. Some of us have chains and blinders like beasts of burden. Others dig through heaps of refuse for a simple meal. Some of us are fat and soft like a house cat. Often times we cannot choose our destiny only follow like some anatomic machine being ground to dust. Like briefcases on the street and the sound of a jackhammer and so many yellow taxis. The machine eventually consumes us and we would be curious to find if our memory lasts three generations.

The material world is limited. The earth has a finite circumference, the sun has a specific amount of fuel that will burn up in the end, and the universe has borders. All things of this world will pass away in the end, because the world is finite.

Human ambitions and desires are infinite. No matter what the desire or ambition is—for power, knowledge, posessions, love—it cannot be exhausted, because when a desire is acheived, that opens the door to the next level. It is this infinite nature to our internal landscapes that makes us human, makes us want to ascend to the stars and feed the hungry and make the world a better place, or a safer place, or a more satisfying place. Human beings will always try to expand and improve upon the world, because the world is finite, but our ambitions are infinite.

Once you start placing limitations on anything, you hinder whatever growth there can be.

Always look beyond. Believe in it regardless of what your human vision reveals to you. There are infinite possibilities.
