First of all, check and see if your company even allows that. To access a PC on the internal network would require the firewall to port forward port 3389 to your PC. Alternatively a service such as Go To My PC will do the job without port forwarding but many companies block that for security reasons. Or if your company provides for VPN access, that would be the preferred way.

you will need vpn access to your office- ask your sysadmin.

you will also need to allow remote connections inward on your office pc (right click my computer, properties, remote - check "allow users to connect remotely to this computer") and make sure your profile is accepted as an inbound account (click "select remote users.")

at home, open port 3389 on your router.

prepare your vpn connection (again, ask your sysadmin.) when that connects, go to start > accessories > communications > remote desktop connection. enter the computer name on the office network in the domain field and your login information, and click connect.

good luck!
