To suspect your own mortality is to know the beginning of terror, to learn irrefutably that you are mortal is to know the end of terror.

Is this true?

The only way to learn irrefutably that you are mortal is to die. So, yes, that's the end of terror.
And think about it - if you're afraid of the dark, why? Because you don't know what's there. Why does that frighten you? Because it could be some huge thing that's going to kill you or some ghost or something that'll rip your face off.
Or, if you like, heights. Why would anyone be afraid of heights? Because they're afraid they're going to fall and die.

Of course it is...It's somewhat like doubt...If you hold doubt in yourself say when you take a test or run a race, that doubt will cause you to do bad. The same goes with mortality..If you suspect it then it will surely be true, the same goes for the opposite

It's not a matter of truth. What you descibe is a process. And yes, first you are afraid and then you accept your mortality because you have no choice but to accept the fragility of life.

well it depends on how you feel about death? are you afraid of it or what will be waiting for you on the other side? It is because we are mortal that makes life so very wonderful. one should feel the same way about death because it is just life in an other dimension or the other side camp.

If I understand this correctly:

If you are not sure if you can die or not, it would be a living hell; because to not know if you could die would cause incredible amounts of stress. However, to know for a fact that you will die or to know for a fact that you are immortal takes away the stress of not knowing. Now you can go stress about something else that you do not know, like heaven, hell, or neither.
