Hey, Ive just bought a new usb flashdrive, at first it went in fine and was recognised by my comp, now it isnt, and the computer doesnt even recognise that the USB is being used. Ive tried it on my friends laptop and it works fine. Ive got Windows XP and I really dont know what to do, but I need to get it to work on my laptop properly. every other USB flash drive seems to work fine except this one! Can anyone please help me? I'm at uni and am desperate to get this sorted, so if anyone could, please help! :)

I'd return it and ask for a different one. XP has been known to stop recognizing usb devices and in my case, CD or DVD drives. Usually a simple reboot will correct the problem. But if you still have the receipt- take it back and ask for one that WILL work- take your computer with to demonstrate the problem and ask to try a different one on the spot.
Good luck and have a great day!!!

XP does have problems recognizing some USB devices, if you have more than 1 USB port try swapping ports.
Do not use an unpowered hub as there are inherent problems with these as well (overloading the port, not serious)
I have a hard drive that i sometimes have to unplug and plug in again a couple of times.
There is nothing wrong with the drive it is just stubborn.
SP2 has addressed a lot of these problems so ensure this is loaded as well.
Good Luck

If your willing to erase all the data you can try to format the drive. Youll know what im talking about if you right click on the picture of the drive in my compouter. If formating doesnt work try to clean the USB port on the computer and also try to clean the contacts on the key itself.

hp flash force will artwork on a sparkling dell yet basically it is geared up for abode windows 7 computers. IF the flash force can no longer artwork for abode windows 7 computing device, then do no longer purchase a sparkling computing device. If the USB flash force is previous, it no longer artwork on that Dell. yet in simple terms attempt and see if it is going to artwork.

If your computer is not working properly when it is switched on, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
