Assuming you are making an enclosed fence, you need 200 posts and 8ft of fencing between each post (200)

200 ($42 + 9.86) = 200 (51.86) = $10,372

If you are leaving an opening, or if you are making a straight line fence, you will have one fewer sections of 8' fence, so that would be:
$10,372 - $42 = $10,330.

Your question isn't very clear. If you are asking how much you would spend on fencing to cover 200 posts; it would be $42x200 pieces = $8400 (this assumes you are enclosing an area). Plus $9.86 x 200 posts = $1972 Total: $10372

If your question actually was how much to build a 200 foot fence (which I suspect was the real quesiton) it would be
200ft divided by 8 ft sections=25 stockade pieces multiplied by $42= $1050
Then 25 times $9.86 = $246.50 for the posts
Total of $1296.50

auess : 199*42 + 200*9.86
I assume that the fence is NOT put in a circle.

you need 200 posts and 199 stockades in between.

So cost = 9.86*200 + 199*42 = 10330

(199 * 42) + (9.86 * 200) = $8358.00 + $1972.00
$8358.00 + $1972.00 = $10330.00
