There are no pros. Circumcision is a cure in search of a disease. It is painful for a baby, mutilates the penis, takes away thousands of nerve ending, the ridged band and often the frenulum.
The foreskin is fused to the glans (head of the penis) like a fingernail is to the finger. If you ripped out a baby's fingernails it would be considered child abuse.

People will try to tell you its cleaner, which is crap! How is an open bloody wound ina poopy diaper in anyway clean? In an infant the foreskin is seald so that feces cannot get in. You only need to wipe it like a finger until the natural adhesions dissolve. When a boy becomes naturally retactible all he has to do is pull back the skin rinse and replace. how hard is it to get a boy to touch his penis in the bath?-)

As for disease, a man has a much greater chance of getting breast cancer than penile cancer, yet we don't remove his entirely superfluous breast buds at birth. Likewise, girls get signifigantly more Urinary tract infections, yet we don't remove their labia. They get anitbiotics! As for STDs a circumcision is not a condom. Condoms and abstinance are the best ways to prevent STDs, not surgery. Otherwise peopple would be clamoring for girls toget cut too; as they have far more moist skin to harbor germs.

Let your child decide for himself. It is NOT YOUR BODY to make cosmetic alterations to. Also, no major medical association recommends this barbaric procedure.

The only legitimate reasons for removing a foreskin are GANGRENE, FROSTBITE and CANCER. Every other "reason" is based on doctor's ignorance. When faced with a foreskin they know only about cutting them off. This has got to change. Phimosis can cured by stretching excerises and steroid creams, infections call for antibiotis, not surgery. Infections are most often CAUSED by ignorant folks trying to pull back a foreskin that is not ready. THis can cause tears in the mucosal skin that become inflamed or infected. Just wipe it like a finger until it retracts naturally and you are good to go!
Newborns feel pain far more intensely than even adults. it can also permanently alter brain function in a newborn. If anyone gives you that "my baby slept right through it line" they are in denial of their child going INTO SHOCK! What a way to welcome a child to the world.

I am assuming you are referring to circumcision? I wouldn't. There is not much in the way of proof that there is any medical benefit. Some studies have shown that infants who go through this procedure can suffer from post traumatic stress and are highly sensitive to pain. There is also suggestion that it can cause an increased risk for penile cancer. If a child has recurrent infections, it is most likely from improper hygeine. In my opinion it is really just a "nice" way of referring to mutilation. There are some recent articles in the news about this very subject too.

I originally thought I wouldn't because it's natural and I wouldn't think of doing anything similar to a girl (then again, there's always the ongoing debate of whether it's the same things at all). Anyway, that was before I dated two guys that weren't. I think I will now because those two guys smelled. It wasn't horrible, but it was noticeable and after it happened with the second one, I realized the common thread. One of the guys loves his and wouldn't change it and keeps quoting that it's not any less sanitary, but I don't know if I believe him and I don't have the heart to tell him my objections to it. It's kinda odd now, but think of their future girlfriends!

NOT.
There's now more information, stating that circumsision is not necessary at all, since it does not prevent cancer of the penis, which is a very rare disease anyway and occurs more frequently in males who do not practice proper hygiene.

you mean circumcision?
i wouldn't do it to any kid older than 1 week old. my prenatal classes said best to wait until baby is 7 days old, even though most hospitals do it next day.
i chose not to, mainly because i didn't want to subject him to pain/surgery. also, they supposedly have better sex life/more sensitive due to increased surface area. Also, about 60% are not getting cut, so i went with majority.
