Has anyone noticed that many people on Yahoo! Answers ask questions about what to do in serious situations and a lot of the answerers suggest that they be less than truthful? That isn't even as bad as the fact that being a liar is apparently now socially acceptable...lying is even averted to as the right thing to do in certain situations. What happened?

I think being honest is a good thing, but seriously sometimes you have to give a white lie to not hurt someone's feelings.

I agree with you 100%!!! Truth is such an important part of life. I do not like liars. Sometimes people will lie if it's to their advantage. It's human nature. Society has made it that way!! Peoples values are just going to the junkyard as time trudges on! Sometimes people think that lying is the best policy if it's to protect anothers feelings. But that is only the momentary solution, and sometimes another lie has to be told to cover the first lie, then another, etc., until one lie snowballs! So sad too!

There's nothing wrong with Honesty. Most people are telling the truth around here all the time.

(That's an example of what you are talking about, right?)

People have stopped being sincere and instead are trying to be either shocking or witty. It's annoying.
