The very notion that this question is even asked tells me that we are not doing a good enough job of teaching our young people cultural history. And, it also says that music is dead. And, to whomever posed this question, I strongly urge you to look up Marvin Gaye. Learn about his life and tragic death. Read about what he meant to a generation of people. Mr. Gaye was not just an artist, but an icon. Spend some time with his music. It will get in you, I promise. While you're doing that, check out some of his peers.
