I'm a 28 y/o str8 male and I work in a gay bar. Why is it so hard to believe that I'm str8? I found that I seem to be making tons more money. Is something wrong with that?

ok. I'm gay. Nothing at all wrong with you working in a gay bar. It actually makes gays feel really good when a str8 guy is very seccure with themselfs to be able to work in that enviroment. Good Job and keep up the good work.

Nothing wrong with you being str8 and working in a gay bar. If anything it speaks to your sense of self and your the security of your own sexuality. I have three str8 friends who all work in the clubs, they flirt with the guys, are silly and have a great time, but at the end of their shift, they know who they go home to, their little woman. Another thing, like you said you make great money so shake your bon bon and have fun with it, if others have a problem, then it's just that, their problem, not yours.

You sound like you are comfortable enough to go to work in a gay bar/club. Just expect that you will be hit on every now and then. Be kind in your declines and all should go well. I think tipping would result in the quality of your work but smiles and kind words should help in that department also. Good luck!

Some str8 guys work at gay bars cause they know they'll get good tips. If you are advertising that you are str8 because you think you'll get better tips that is kind of offensive.

I know a lot of straight bartenders in gay clubs... and they give people the friendly bit and make a lot of tips. They have a brain in their heads. But of course there are gay bartenders in straight clubs that know exactly how to drag tips out of the ladies as well.

I know of three guys in my life time who have worked in your same situation (gay 4 hire). Yes it can be a challenge, but not for you, but your clientele. Its the fantasy of having a straight guy. I think what made our relationships so special, was I and they were finally able to talk and dialog on many topics. You know the I always wanted to know stuff. However; in those three relationships; it took time to develop a trust repor. My advice, just learn to be comfortable in your own skin.
