when 300 steel pins were immmersed in a glass fuu of water no water is overflowed. why? can anybody explain?

we have an assumption that when something is immersed in fluid the level of fluid increase. but when the above experiment was done nothing happened

The glass was full to the top, the pins were small. The water level rose but surface tension at the top of the glass kept the water in the glass.

I agree with the surface tension answer. You need to look closely at the surface of the water in "full" glass before and after the pins are put in. Water's surface tension can allow up to 0.5 cm of height increase beyond the rim of the glass:

THE PINS HAVE SUCH A SMALL SURFACE AREA THAT THE WATER MOLECULES AREN'T PUSHED AS FAR APART AS THEY WOULD BE WITH A LARGER OBJECT/OBJECTS. BET IF YOU COULD MEASURE THE DENSITY OF THE WATER YOU WOULD SEE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WATER WITH NO PINS VS FULL OF PINS.
