It really depends on who is speaking and what is said.
If the conversation is real and interesting, there mostly isn't any little voice inside...
The voice only comes when I get irritated by what is being said (or the xxxx time it is told). Then it sounds like (oh, shut up already; heard that million times before; and now this is going to be said; ...)
Other times, the little voice is more talking to myself: why didn't you think of that?
So it's easy to answer your last question: if the talking is interesting, I listen to the person - if not, I try to amuse myself by listening to my own little voices and by this way hope that the conversation will end quicker...

This is quite an interesting question at least as I am interpreting it. Let me take a shot at answering this one by saying that whenever we receive information, we probably are either consciously or subconsciously gathering it, assessing it, drawing conclusions about it all at once. Sometimes when you are with a group and someone might be droning on about something, the little voice in my head is saying b*ll sh*t. When I sit and listen to my friends, to people I love, my family, I try as much as possible to reserve judgement and really listen to what they are saying both the text and the subtext of their message.

Depends on what they are trying to tell me. Since I am job seeking, most of the people that talk to me give me advice on where to go find a job, but my little voice tells me not to go there. I listen to my little voice because these people are telling me to go to sales which I am scared. the reason why I am scared is that I had a life threatening experience working in sales and never again and I am going to handle that large amount of cash. I don't ever want to see a gun again pointed to my face and try to "blow out my brains", The only time I want to see a gun is on tv shows or in the movies.

I'm going to pay attention next time I speak to someone about what it's saying. I like your question. I choose what I hear and what the little voice tells me, for example when I am with people and we get silenced I start thinking about what to say next to sound like I'm having fun and I'm confident and say something so the person will say something back and think about what to say that is funny.

Depends on who the person is. Sometimes the little voice is actually hushed, and it allows me to focus fully on what the person is saying. If the person is full of baloney, or a dramatist, then the little voice says - "methinks thou art a shithead"; if the story is quite sad, it advises me to do what i can to alleviate their suffering. If the person is blatantly, totally, one hundred percently yanking my chain, the voice says, "what a hoser" and if the person is totally hot, it says, "hmmmm, you need one of those!"

My little voice usually sings, so it's pretty difficult to listen to anyone else...
