Vermont already has Civil Unions, which are just like marriage but are called something else to appease the intolerant. Connecticut will probably allow gay marriage pretty soon. No one cares about Rhode Island. New Hampshire is quite Republican, so will be among the last to allow gay marriage. People who live in Maine are too busy marrying their cousins and sucking up to Stephen King to really care one way or another.

I hope so, and I hope it is just the start for freedom for all people no matter what their gender to be allowed the same rights and benefits from marriage.
NJ's ruling is even more important because in Mass. you have to basically live in Mass to be married there, since they do not allow you to marry there if your marriage would not be allowed in your own home state. NJ has no such caveat with in it's law.

I think that it will come down to eone of the big states like NY or PA. MA and NJ are too small for anybody to notice them, or to make a difference. Plus, our Sumpreme Court left it up legislators, on whether they will get married or have civil unions, and our governor would prefer civil unions.

I hope so for your (americans) sake...it could be the start of something bigger..unfortunately I'm not quite up to date on how the american system works but what has happened sounds quite positive...sorta like what the provinces in canada did...most seemed to individually accept it..so that there really wasn't much plausable reason for the federal government to say no to gay marriage.

Good for NJ. I hope this starts a trend. Don't hold your breath waiting for PA to jump on the bandwagon. Way too many rednecks.

The most likely state to get gay marriage would be California I think.

The entire country will allow gay marriage in time. But probably when the existing 'holier than thou' crowd are buried and rotting in their graves. The under 25 crowd of today will make the changes needed.

These things were decided by a court. Not by poular vote. so don't saythatthe states did it because the people did not, a couple of judges did.

Does that make you happy? They can allow gay marriage in all over u.s.a, but that God won't allow gay people in heaven. If you lose ur soul, it'd be better off you weren't born at all.
We're living in the end times, come to Jesus.
May God help you get out of what you're in now.
