Wrens

Reasoning of answer...The farthing had a wren on it, A Wren is a female in the Navy. I havn't found the connection with Kensington palace yet but I would take a guess that it is on the heraldic shield or a symbol of the Palace.

EDIT: Found it!!!! Sir Christopher Wren was the architect of Kensington Palace :D I knew I'd get it eventually! lol

A farthing, a quarter of a pre-decimal English penny depicted a Wren on it's obverse
Women in the Royal navy from 1920 onwards were part of the Women's Royal Navy Reserve, WRNS and nicknamed Wrens
Kensington Palace, although not built by him, was extended and improved by Sir Christopher Wren for the king's occupancy.

Easy - A wren

The wren was on the coin the farthing. A female in the Navy is a wren and Christopher Wren was commissioned to improve and extend Kensington Palace.
