How do I remove the blue folder task bar from the side of my computer? I run on XP

I just logged on to the computer this morning and there was this big folder taskbar on the left side: Folder tasks, other places, details" internet explorer system folder
That's all I know. I right click on it & nothing happens. I haven't run any updates or anything so I'm not sure what's going on. I can't seem to locate anywhere to turn it off. it's not the regular taskbar that has start & open programs.

I am not exactly sure what you are asking about, but am suggesting this from as much as I can interpret from your question:

On your desktop at the bottom, you have a taskbar with Start button and other shortcuts. Right click on it and take your mouse to Toolbars and make sure that there are no tickmarks/check marks against any of the toolbars except "Quick Launch" (which is usually ticked). I think when u remove unnecessary tickmarks, you will get rid of unnecessary toolbars.

Also try right clicking on the unnecessary toolbar.
