Hi, Peta the Flirtcoach here...
I've just done a national breath study for Trebor Extra Cool Mints to uncover the truth behind the UK’s breath.
It has revealed that foul breath is the biggest turn off when meeting someone for the first time claiming almost 60% of the vote. It appears that we can forgive bad dress sense, a weak handshake and even ugliness, but nothing beats the stench of bad breath.
However, a whopping 64% of people revealed that they wouldn’t tell someone if they a breath problem: 20% of whom hoped an offer of a mint would help people take the hint and 13% said they would avoid speaking to the person altogether.
Women are less likely to speak out than men, with 71% of them saying they would be too embarrassed to point out the problem, whereas 25% of men believed it was better to tell the person straight.
ANSWER -
If I knew someone with bad breath I'd take them aside and say
'There's something I need to tell you and I'm doing it because I'd pray and hope that someone would do this for me but the fact is your breath smells sometimes I know that everyone can have challenges with their breath occasionally - I do. And I always use Trebor Extra Cool mints."
and give them a packet...They'll thank you in the end.
Did you know that Trebor is Robert spelt backwards?

Avoid talking to them; but normally the ones with the bad breath have more to say than anyone.
Keep your office supplied with breath mints and/or gum to offer.

I actually have been in this situation several times. I carry gum in my purse for when i am in an apointment or something wher i am close to somebody. If the other person has bad breath, i just hold out a piece of gum and smile, they get the picture when you do that. And it isn't rude.

what i did was, i had some of them tooth cleaners on me, the ones you buy from the chemist, you pop them on your finger and clean as you go, so i said to my friend once..."ooh look at these, try one, they are really good", this was without actually telling her that she had bad breath, she tried it and now she carries a pack with her every day

Buy a new kind of mint. Then, in front of the offender, try one. Offer one to that person. After they try it, say.... I don't really like em, do you want to keep them? So then they will have mints.

offer them a tictac... my brother and brother in law literally stink, and what i did was on their birthdays and Christmas they receive goody bags full of personal care items. you could fix a basket for your co-worker for Halloween filled with mints, gum, breath strips, and other hard candies. it will be suttle and sweet

Talk with them discreetly. Blame it on something they most likely ate this morning or afternoon. Suggest they keep some breath spray or mint gum for after lunch breath. Tell them what you do to avoid b.b. be kind but be honest. Keep in mind what you would want to be told if it were you with b.b. and didn't know it. You would want somebody to tell you sooner than later. And you would want it to be kind and not rude or embarrassing. Discretion and kindness is key.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
