The structures are the mouth which consists of the teeth which chews the food and tongue
2) the oesophagus or gullet which by peristalsis sends th food to the stomach
3) the stomach which digests protein by secreting the pepsin and the renin and also secrets hcl to neutralise the action of the alkali from the mouth
4)duodenum which converts maltase to maltose and peptones to poly peptides
5)small intestine which converts all the food so it can be absorbed by the body through the villi.
6) finally the undigested food particles are sent to the large intestine and are excreted
i hope this does a lot of good

The mouth, the throat (pharynx), the esophagus, the stomach at the end of which is the pyloric sphincter, which leads into the duodenum of small intestine. Here, the pancreas, liver and gall bladder secrete enzymes and other materials to aid in digestion. The duodenum leads to the jejunum and ilium of the small intestine, which leads the large intestine. This leads the rectum for storage and onto the anus for excretion of solid waste.
