Favourite female singer would have to be: Blondie. Debbie Harry has such a unique voice. Failing that (and don't get me wrong i am not a huge fan of her songs) but Christina Aguilera has a good voice too.
Favourite male singer would have to be: Matt Bellamy from Muse. He can really hold a note and he writes great songs. Or the best man in the world - Dave Grohl... and he's gorgeous!

For his songwriting I would say Elvis Costello but his voice is not in the same league as Freddie Mercury, Marc Almond, Sandy Denny or Bruce Dickinson. For stage presence and voice combined I'd opt for Freddie.
