Absolutely! The party in power in Congress gets to lay out the agenda, determine what can be put up for vote, gets to shape most of the laws.
Right now, there are a handful of Republicans deciding EVERYTHING and their appetite for pork and draconian laws is practically unbounded and unstoppable.
Its also left Bush 100% unchallenged because the Republicans won't allow any presidential oversight to come to the floor whatsoever.
Don't fall for the seductive "they are both as bad". While the Democrats certainly would not be above reproach, it is unthinkable that they could perform as badly as the Republicans.
Furthermore, "absolute power corrupts absolutely". That the Republicans have 100% control of everything from the presidency to congress to the courts has allowed things to hit a rock bottom that would otherwise be impossible in a balanced democracy. The republicans entire psyche is greed and corruption, and now this has been allowed to run complete unchecked for YEARS.

Things wouldn't be exactly the same, because each party has their own agenda, but the crooked behavior would continue. I'd be happy to throw all of them out and send a message that this has to stop. There are ways to fix the system but it relies on the same people who engage in this behavior to be willing to put a stop to it, unfortunately.

the two way do no longer agonize, bear in mind there is often the mid term elections, they're purely 2 years away. bear in mind what handed off to the Democrats back in 1994 over the Brady bill and the attack weapons ban? The Democrats lost the two the homestead and senate.

It does. While the GOP has us all aboard a Piper Cub, headed toward the "New World Order"/One World Government, the Democrats will put us aboard a supersonic jet. That's the main difference.

You are exactly right stephanie.
It is amazing to me how many people are buying into this "left vs. right" concept....it's a sham, it isn't real.
No matter which party is in power we will still be FORCED to pay an average of 20% of our hard earned income to the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!
How could anyone who calls themself an "american", support ANY party (right OR left) who would allow this extortion to continue?

It will however greatly change WHO gets the money in Washington, not that any of us will ever see it. LOL. Come on sheepole, let's go vote. I say we all write in NOTA, 'cuz they all stink

You had better believe it matters. Do you want our troops permanently based in Iraqi like the Bush Adminsitration does? Do you want two more years of a Congress that continues to let Bush run wild so long as he lets them continue their spending beinge?
