How about Patrice Lumumba, first elected Prime Minister of the Congo, and Gamel Abdel Nasser, President of Egypt 1956-1970?

Positive is in the eye etc. None are without
flaws so go with ones that made an impact/contribution.

Nelson Mandela is for sure one of them. He is probably the most respected man in South Africa. He was jailed many years ago for making bombs and planting them in coke cans and then later became president of South Africa. The second would be Jacob Zuma-he is the one that invented the shower as a cure for aids, lol!
