i feel that people are born with both. this is how you start out your life and the way that you see it. so when being color blind or not, we are taught the spectrum of colors. so for the color-blind person the red is actually grey.but to the rest of the world there grey is red.so how can we expect either one to understand what the other sees. neither is wrong, we just have to try to respect what they see.

tell me what you think.

i respect what others feel, but pedophiles and people into beastiality are nothing like gays. they dont have basic humanity and they force innocents (children and animals) into doing things they would never do and hurting them , so if you agree with bubba you're nuts!

In other animals in the wild that participate in homosexuality...it's usually not contained to pure homosexuality. Bisexuality is the norm with these animals. A distal benefit towards survival has been shown for some animals to engage in homosexual behavior under particular circumstances. Being that the population estimates of those that engage in homosexual behavior in our species is larger than these estimates in other animals suggest a combination of genetic and cultural factors. I personally take a Michel Foucault perspective that by banning and trying to taboo homosexuality we've actually drawn attention and interest to the behavior.

Well I know that it is rare if not immpossible for a woman to be born color blind and I think the same holds true with homosexuality. I think on occasion a woman can be born to be gay, but I think a lot of the young college and high school girls do it for the shock factor or to get a males attention. Most males would love to date a bi-sexual girl. I am not saying all, but a lot. I think that more men are born homosexual by nature. It is harder on men to come out in today's world, so if they do, I don't think it is by choice. Who would choose that hard horribly difficult life? Girls on the other hand are promoted on music videos and movies as being glamourous and sexy. Just my opinion.

well, of course, you know I agree with you.. but I think that homosexuality is a far more complex subject t'han colour blindness....but I believe that this is the way I was born...I can't understand people who say it was a choice...HOW in hell would they know?? --did they make the choice?

There are people in our society who are tempted to have sex with children. There are other people who have an attraction to animal sex. Were these people born that way also, or is it a perversion of what God intended. We aren't getting into consentual sex because we are simply talking about desires. Do you feel that these individuals are just as legitimate in their desires as a homosexual person? If so, why not push for their acceptance. If not, what makes their desires worse than yours. We all would like for our individual temptations to be removed from the list of wrongs so that we can exploit them at our will. It just doesn't work that way.

I think we are spending WAY too much time and energy debating whether it's nature or nurture/choice or chance.

IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Even with proof positive that it was genetic we would not have civil rights and the haters would still hate.

I see where your going but sadly, it's analogous to saying race is colour blind, it just doesn't work that way.
