thats the terrific bit

1) Work is usually not at all terrific.

2) The money is to basically force to to come to work on time, every day. If you were doing your job out of charity, or for fun, you could skip when you wanted, work 2 hours one day and ten minutes the next. Factories/companies need reliable workers working 8-12 hours a day, to produce constantly.

There are people, such as celebrities, who still work even though they have more than enough money to retire young. This may be because they are used to an extravagant lifestyle, and need a high annual income to support that lifestyle. But there are also people, such as Jay-Z and Oprah, who work for fun and to help others. Also because they want to continue making a name for themselves, to keep up a reputation, or to keep themselves in the spotlight.

Not many people like to admit to the boss they can't stand the sight/smell of the place, also it is a sarcastic comment at the end of the day in the pub to your mates. (just not to the barman/lady as he/she is working)
