when the person who ask needs
a sensible answer to their question ?

Everyone has a different personality, some people just don't take things very serious. Other people are so serious they can't joke, not even once. Some of the funny answers give me a laugh when maybe I wouldn't have laughed all day. You just have to relax and not worry about it. The points don't really mean that much, or at least they shouldn't, they don't really get you anything.

I try to answer all serious questions with serious answers and sometimes the silly questions with serious answers (not realizing it is a silly question) and get comments "loosen up people, get a sense of humor", but I do realize there are a lot of needless answers.(just for the points.) Good luck.

Its the way it is around here. Almost a game actually for some. I've been guilty myself more than a time or two. But what can I say?? Some days you need a bit of entertainment

What is your beef, ask a reasonable question and you'll get a reasonable answer, the inverse is also true.

pose an open question - get open responses
