FORGET about Norton or ANY other software you have to pay for!!! Besides, TechRepublic.com, ZDNet.com and CNet.com have said that both Norton and Symantec have gone down the tubes and are NOT worth it any more because they can actually open up holes in your 'security' system and Norton is a great BIG Resource HOG that slows your computer to a snail's pace.

Go to http://download.com and get:

Avast! Anti-virus by Alwil - FREE - A VERY powerful program that looks in just about evey single nook and cranny of your computer. It also updates more often than almost any other AV! Avast does ask for yearly re-registration but it IS FREE!!!!!

Spybot Search & Destroy - FREE - GREAT real time spyware protection with it's Tea Timer. It also protects from a LOT of other types of mal-ware, too.

Ad-Aware SE Personal by Lavasoft - FREE - Super compliment to SS&D. I run it after SS&D for "insurance".

I've used this cocktail of progs ever since they came out with GREAT ___FREE___ results! As a bonus, NONE of them phone home.

I also use the popup blockers in the Google and Y! Toolbars as well as the XP SP2 Firewall. All three are super compliments to each other!!!

After installing all of what you download UPDATE it and RUN it all!!! No security software can do you ANY good if it's not updated all the time and run on a regular basis I run my SS&D and Ad-Aware every day after I'm done with the net. I don't have to worry about running Avast all the time because it has GREAT real-time protection!

BTW: I did try buying Kaspersky's 15 in one a couple of years ago. I found out it has rootkits and phones home. I've also used CA Zone Alarm Suite provided by Road Runner. It also phones home!!!

You can't....you have to buy the package.

And even if someone gave you a link to getting an illegal copy, Norton can now detect pirated versions and will shut the program down and you will be left with no security protection at all.

You want it? You buy it....or you instal the good free security programs that are available.

Norton is total JUNK. I recommend Saftey and Security Center.

There is no free norton for life. You have to buy it each year to renew it. Go to www.symantec.com to purchase and download.

http://www.norton.com/ If that doesn't work enter "Norton Internet Security" in a search engine and it should be found.
